Biocube 29

Postby ponies999 » Wed Jun 03, 2009 10:56 am

So i decided to start a build thread for my Biocube 29. I started this tank on 5/22/09. Right now i have a small clean up crew which i will probably add a few things to soon. I have 3 corals at the current moment and 2 clownfish from Chris.

So far they are doing good, they seem a little shy but i am hoping in a few more days they will be feeling a little more comfortable. I have pellets to feed them and they dont seem too keen on them but have eaten a few, but i might pick up some flake tonight since i think i read thats what you fed them.

They have been feed flake, mysis shrimp and cyclopezee. They like flake the best but the mysis shrimp is the best for them.

Im sure they are a little shy, they are used to having 100 of their brothers and sister around them

Here are some pics of the other corals, please excuse the diatoms they are on the way out, but still ugly.

These were just put in last night so they should open up a little more in a day or so

They look good ponies. Where did you pick them up from?

OT, but are you going to the frag swap on Sunday? And do you want to join in on the sand trade?

I havent decided if i am going to the frag swap or not, I dont have anything to take but i might go just to see what everyone brings and see if there is anything extra for sale. I was thinking about the sand trade but my sand is still kinda new and looks gross at the moment so i wasnt sure if you guys would want any lol.

You dont have to have frags to go to the frag trade. There will be more to it then just frag trading.

As for the sand it should be fine. If it just has diatoms on it then before you collect it just siphon them off.

Looking good ponies, your sand is actually probably really good for the trade with the life on the rock just coming from the ocean.

I agree. You also said you used live sand from the LFS right? You will have something to add to the trade and it will definitely add to your tank when you get it back.

lol ok you guys convinced me, i guess all the information about it is in the other thread?

Also, i got the 2 lps corals from liveaquaria (had a gift certificate) and the xenia from premium aquatics, since Chris was asking.

Yeah the only problem i had was that the frags came off the plugs when they were shipping. So i had to run out to Happy Harrys and get some super glue, they seem to be doing fine now though.
