I personally would pay a bit more for a captive bred fish. Tell the LFSs to shove it when they say $4 a pop.

I can't imagine they could get them for anywhere near that cost from their vendors. You would think they would be all over a cheaper, aquacultured fish.

chris :confused: i have breed some discus and other fresh water fish but if is not for the hobby is not worth the hazel it can more expensive then you go and buy them from a shop and to resell then you get noting for them and the time spend ? :confused: i well go and buy a fish comes out more cheaper

We dont breed them and i dont think it would be legal to send them to you anyway. I appreciate the offer though ;)

Chris&Barb My friend runs a little fish store here where I live, If you want I can find out how much he pays for the kind of clown you breed. He shows me what he gets them for when I order them and then tells me the mark up. I just bought a six line wrasse from him that he got for 12.50 and I think he is charging me like 18 or 20 for it. I can find exact prices if you like. I know that the store you went to might have different at cost prices then this one cause it depends on shipping etc but it could give you a ball park price anyhow. I am going over there today to pick up my nem and wrasse so if he isnt too busy ill have him shoot me a few store cost prices on the clowns.
