interesting, but i dont really know what those are... are they soft or do they have a hard shell? i would say that if you can get them off easily that would be best for the clam.

In phoenix AZ alone the average summer temp is between 103-105f and the warmest ever for
june was 122f
july was 121f
and august was 116f :blink: ouch....

yeah close the curtans, that would help

unles you already have a UV sterilizer dont get one, spend the money on a protein skimmer instead. though a UV sterilizer would work great in this situation they are generally useless for closed systems

do you use a protien skimmer? if so is it going nuts? or not doing anything? have you added any new coral, rock, other in the last three weeks? this sounds like a plankton bloom and may be over in another week, but i would start by cutting the lighting period down to only a few hours a day and see w...

because the sand bed i have is new so it will take a while to populate and mature and fighting conchs forage in the sand so i figgure why not build up its pantry.

by the way i got all the coraline i think i will need from the zoo last monday :mrgreen:

yeah that is what ive been thinking... its just pulling the stuff thats been falling off the rocks out of the water.. So far for my janatorial staff i am planing on once my tanks cycle levels out: (thats right, for everyone reading this that's either new or doesnt know, "cycling" your tank...
